Self-Awareness

The capacity to understand one's own emotions and thoughts, and how they influence behavior across situations. This includes identifying one’s strengths and areas of improvement, growth mindset, and identity

Self-Management

The abilities to manage one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in different situations in order to achieve goals and make responsible decisions. This includes having healthy coping mechanisms, managing stress, and improving focus.

Social Awareness

The capacity to understand the perspective of and empathize with others, as well as recognizing social norms and cues. This includes fostering open-mindedness, acceptance and a sense of belongingness.

Social Management

The abilities to effectively navigate and handle social interactions, relationships, and situations. This includes building communication skills, managing conflicts constructively, and seeking support when needed

The Founders

Farzana Kashfi has over a decade of experience working with underserved populations. As the Head of BRAC's Skills Development program, she supported thousands of young people seeking to build better futures. Farzana has served as an advisor to organizations such as Sajida Foundation, North South University's Start-up Next program, and BRAC University's Center for Entrepreneurship Development. She serves on the boards of Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center and Bangladesh Women Investors Network. Farzana holds a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Applications in Economics and Finance from University of Toronto.

FARZANA KASHFI

Founder

Amreen Bashir is an education specialist with over a decade of experience across K-12 institutions, education policy think tanks and non-profit organizations. Through her Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University and International Educational Policy Master degree from Harvard University, Amreen’s academic and professional career has been focused on promoting education equity for all children. She is currently working on her PhD in Education Technology from Trinity University and wants to utilize the power of technology to promote educational outcomes and wellbeing for students in Bangladesh so that they can reach their full potential.

FARZANA KASHFI

Founder

Ashna Chowdhury is a consultant and facilitator who specializes in Wellbeing and Leadership Development. With a Master's in Psychology and multiple coaching certifications, she helps people develop emotional intelligence and a sense of purpose. Ashna values intercultural competence and critical pedagogy, enabling her to drive courageous conversations and transformation. She also works in the solar energy industry and founded Thrive Women to empower women through networking and financial literacy training.

The Facilitators

Tamzida is the founder of Dandelionz, the first ever centre for holistic development for children in the country. She is also a partner of cafe – The Red Window Gulshan. Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, she had extensive experience in the corporate multinational world, with stints at Standard Chartered Bank and Banglalink. She shares her learnings from the practical business world, as an adjunct faculty at ULAB. She is pursuing her interest in social and emotional learning as a trainee, Diploma in Transactional Analysis. Tamzida completed her executive MBA & BBA from IBA, Dhaka University.

TAMZIDA KARIM

Facilitator

Afsana Sadiq Atuly is an education professional and passionate advocate for equity. She is currently working as the country co-lead for EdTech Hub where her main focus is to create evidence to support the government, policymakers, teachers and students and a Fellow of Youth Policy Forum. Atuly began her career as a primary school teacher working in one of the biggest slum communities in Bangladesh as a Teach For Bangladesh Fellow. She is also working on her passion project to build community-based learning centers for rural schools all around Bangladesh. Atuly holds a BA from the Asian University for Women and completed her MEd from BRAC University Institute of Education Development.

AFSANA SADIQ ATULY

Facilitator

Rahnuma is a mental health professional with 5 years of experience in various roles and projects. She volunteered with mental wellbeing organizations, provided para-counseling under Leaping Boundaries during the pandemic, and trained helpline volunteers at Kaan Pete Roi. Rahnuma has facilitated sessions for adolescent skill development. Rahnuma holds a postgraduation degree in industrial & organizational psychology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Dhaka.

RAHNUMA HAQUE

Facilitator

Alveera (Neeta) has almost a decade’s experience working as an emotional counselor. Using kindness & empathy, she has worked closely with faculty, students and their parents to help young students gain awareness of their emotions and to become confident in their own abilities to manage themselves. Her honest & authentic interactions with students make her a trustworthy adult for them to rely on.
