WISH at Work

Student Voices

It was very joyful, and it made me smile a lot.

- Grade 5 student

The things I learned from the sessions are things that are neither taught by parents nor by school.

- Grade 10 Student

As an active member of WISH, I can confidently say that I believe heavily in the aims of the organisation. It's a great experience being educated by qualified professionals in how to better handle the ins and outs of our everyday struggles and the mental toll it takes on us. Furthermore, this gives us a chance to tackle the stigma surrounding open discussions regarding mental health in our country.

- Grade 12 Student

The sessions have taught me that shutting off any part of yourself, negative or not, is not a solution to any problem.

- Grade 9 Student

The WISH organization is contributing tremendously to our youth’s mental well-being. As a student who also goes through a series of mental episodes, they have helped a lot to lighten the burden of bottling everything up inside and to bring some of the important topics into light.

South Breeze school partners with WISH for mental health initiative
The event was organised with the goal of destigmatising conversations about mental health and enhancing students' mental health, with a particular emphasis on addressing academic stress and social expectations, which the students often have to deal with.
Led by the students of the school, including Tayyab Riyasat, Binoy Saha, Mohammad Shayan Fazal, and Deborshi Vikramaditya in Grades 11 and 12, 'Beyond the Blues' aimed to challenge the prevailing stereotypes related to mental health within schools. The event received significant support from founders of the WISH initiative, Farzana Kashfi and Amreen Bashir, as well as from facilitators Tamzida Karim and Rahnuma Haque.
WISH at TedWomen
From October 11-13th, 2023, our co-founder, Amreen Bashir was a part of TED Conferences at TedWomen which was hosted in Atlanta, USA. Speaking to everyone about the importance of mental health practices for gender empowerment and learning about every conceivable topic was an incredible experience. TedWomen remains as one of the most inspiring and exhilarating conferences we have been represented in.
WISH at 6th Annual CSD Conference On Sustainability & Development
Two of our founders, Amreen Bashir and Farzana Kashfi, were chosen as esteemed panelists at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh’s Sustainability Conference on the importance of teaching empathy in students to build better habits for climate sustainability. Our founders highlighted the need for a wellbeing curriculum to create future generations of students who are climate conscious.
