The things I learned from the sessions are things that are neither taught by parents nor by school.
As an active member of WISH, I can confidently say that I believe heavily in the aims of the organisation. It's a great experience being educated by qualified professionals in how to better handle the ins and outs of our everyday struggles and the mental toll it takes on us. Furthermore, this gives us a chance to tackle the stigma surrounding open discussions regarding mental health in our country.
The sessions have taught me that shutting off any part of yourself, negative or not, is not a solution to any problem.
The WISH organization is contributing tremendously to our youth’s mental well-being. As a student who also goes through a series of mental episodes, they have helped a lot to lighten the burden of bottling everything up inside and to bring some of the important topics into light.
